Desert trip to Anza Borrego and Arizona Day 2

On the second day we did the Palm Canyon Oasis hike at Anza Borrego. It was really interesting to see so many wildflowers and cacti just growing out of the rocks. There were so many Washingtonia Palms that are the only native palms to California. We saw so many Red Barrel cacti. After the hike we drove down to Blair Valley which is in the southern part of Anza Borrego. There we saw a lot of hedgehog cactus, agaves, Chollas, and wildflowers. We did a quick hike to Morteros which are Indian grinding stones.

  1. Great shots of the blooms! Anza-Borrego Foundation has an annual photo contest - you should think about entering. Their website is http://www.theabf.org.
